Frequently asked questions about cybersecurity

When does NIS2 apply to my business?
NIS2 has applied in Belgium since 18 October 2024, through the law of 26 April 2024. You fall within scope if your company is active in one of the eighteen designated sectors and has at least fifty employees or more than ten million euros in turnover. Small and micro enterprises are in principle out of scope, but there are important exceptions: cloud providers, data centres, DNS services and managed service providers are covered regardless of size. The Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium maintains the official scope test at atwork.safeonweb.be. If you are unsure, we will go through it with you.
What does a NIS2 audit cost?
It varies considerably per organisation: size, sector and what is already in place all affect the effort involved. Time-and-materials work is charged at 92.50 euros per hour, excluding VAT. For a full programme we agree a fixed total price upfront.
How long does an ISO27001 programme take?
Expect six to twelve months. How long exactly depends on how much is already documented and how much time your own people can free up.
